What you will be doing
- Organizing and preparing materials, equipment, and spaces for engaging workshops and sessions.
- Providing essential support to academic staff to enhance learning experiences.
- Facilitating and monitoring active student engagement and participation.
- Coordinating schedules efficiently and managing seamless session transitions.
- Receiving mentorship from pioneering leaders in K-12 education.
What you will NOT be doing
- Standing on the sidelines: You'll be at the forefront, actively engaging with students and their educational journey.
- Feeling overwhelmed: No lecturing or emotional coaching; that's reserved for the Guides.
- Engaging in unfulfilling work: This is a meaningful role that directly impacts children's growth and development.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Guides in fulfilling Alpha's promise to students: ensuring academic achievement, life skills development, and a passion for learning.
Candidate Requirements
- On-site work at our Austin, Bastrop, or Brownsville campus.
- Minimum of 10 hours per week with flexible scheduling within school hours (Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM). Option to work up to 30 hours per week according to availability.
- Experience in working with children.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- A friendly, approachable demeanor suitable for interacting with kids.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
