Overview
Monterey Wine Company is seeking passionate and motivated individuals to join our Custom Crush Harvest Internship Program. This is a hands-on opportunity for recent graduates or aspiring winemakers to gain real-world experience during the 2025 Harvest Season.
As a Harvest Intern, you'll work closely with our experienced winemaking team and support daily winery operations across our custom crush services. This position offers extensive exposure to wine production, data collection, laboratory analysis, and cellar activities, aligning with academic or career interests in Enology, Chemistry, or related fields.

Essential Responsibilities
Duties may include but are not limited to:ALL Monitor grape fermentations: Brix, temperature, cap management (pump-overs, punch-downs)
Assist with grape receiving, weighing, and processing
Prepare and add wine ingredients (yeast, nutrients, fining agents)
Clean and sanitize winery equipment and work areas
Conduct sampling for lab analysis and winemaking trials
Assist with data tracking and entry into winemaking systems
Support the setup and execution of tastings and sensory evaluations
Work safely with chemicals and follow proper PPE protocols

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or coursework in Enology, Chemistry, Biology, or related science field preferred
Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
Basic understanding of winemaking processes is a plus
Experience with Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Ability to lift 55 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
Willingness to work flexible shifts, overtime, and weekends during peak harvest
Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic

Eligibility Requirement:
Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the United States and must meet all California employment eligibility standards.

Compensation
California Pay Transparency Disclaimer:
This is a Non-Exempt (hourly) position. Pay for this role ranges between $18.00 and $22.00 per hour. Actual pay rate depends on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
